Passing on info I received from an org I worked before with that seemed like it’d be of interest to folks here - scoop below, registration here.
As a regional convener for the New York City hub of the nationwide OpenAI Nonprofit AI Jam with OpenAI and the Walton Family Foundation, I’d love for your organization to join us on Thursday, July 17, 2025 for a fun day full of learning, community-building, and collaboration.
What is the Nonprofit AI Jam?
The Nonprofit AI Jam is a nationwide, one-day sprint where nonprofit leaders will gather across 10 regional hubs to build a practical AI prototype or workflow to support their day-to-day work. Guided by OpenAI Academy facilitators, technical mentors, local partners, and peer collaboration - and preceded by a short virtual Bootcamp - we hope participants will leave with working solutions, new skills, and a support network for continued progress.
Why attend?
- Hands-on results: In one focused day you will design and build an AI workflow or prototype - anything from a donor-thank-you co-writer to an intake-chatbot.
- All-levels welcome: Beginners with no experience using AI are welcome! No coding background needed. A short, self-paced Bootcamp (July 1-16) will help provide introductory material as well.
- Peer network: Connect with fellow nonprofits in your community who are tackling similar challenges.
- Free to participate: Registration is free. Limited travel & one-night hotel stipends are available if distance is a barrier.
- The registration takes ~10 minutes. Submit ASAP to indicate interest in attending.
Important note: There are limited seats and participants will be confirmed on a rolling basis. Submitting the registration form does not guarantee attendance.
Who should attend?
- It’s up to you and your org! All positions are welcome and we encourage any level and department. If possible and when capacity allows, up to two people from your nonprofit can attend together.
- Seats are allotted on a rolling basis and space is tight, so early registrations are encouraged. You’ll receive confirmation, and any travel-support details, within two weeks of applying. For those not able to participate, we will share relevant materials on OpenAI Academy after the AI Jam Day.
